About us
In The Zulu langauge, the word "Fundisa" means to teach, and "funda" means to learn. So locals refer to a person knowledgeable on a topic as a "fundi". Bush Fundi Safaris provides legendary and affordable wildlife experiences as best they come to small groups of 2 - 10 travellers in some of South Africa's most famous parks. Your experience in Africa will be bespoke and personal, as your guides cater the ideal trip best suited to you. In our small group, we will exprience the wonders of the Savanna bushveld. We will walk and game drive across the pristine and ancient ecosystems beneath our footsteps.

On arrival you will be collected from the local airport nearest your safari.
-
Every day there will be either an early morning walk or a game drive, to spot the iconic African animals prpearing for the day ahead. This followed by a prepared breakfast for all.
-
Midday offers a good moment to enjoy animal viewing hides, observe birds or to read in peace and rest up for evening activities, relaxing to the sounds of the bush.
-
Late afternoons are for game drives. These normally turn into beautiful African red sunsets, overlooking the vast plains of the reserves, a drink in hand of course.
-
If energised, night drives can be arranged to search for nocturnal predators.
-
All this to be followed by a prepared dinner, campfire, and a well-deserved sleep, on to see what the following day provides.

This is Jorge, one of your multi-talented guides and a Spanish translator. Jorge is a scientific diver, predator biologist, wildlife lecturer and polar guide (all-in-one). He is an all-round nature enthusiast with experience in various environments, although the bushveld is his favourite. Jorge brings the fun, excitement, a lot of entertainment and even a few true stories.

I'm Alley, and I'll be one of your guides through The African Bushveld. Currently working a PhD in cheetah conservation, I have dedicated the past five years to working with big cats, driven by a passion for these magnificent creatures and their preservation. With hands-on and academic expertise, I am excited to share my knowledge and love for wildlife with you, ensuring a safe, educational, and fun adventure through South Africa's stunning wilderness.
Hi my name is Tyron but they call me Walshy. I am a FGASA Field Guide, trained with the necessary skills to track animals on foot, and interpret the signs of the African wilderness. I particularly enjoy photography and teaching others how best to shoot animals (Shutterspeed low, ISO auto and F-Stop set to 4.5). See you out there!

I'm Neil and I'll be your walking guide and safari driver for the trip. I specialise in mechanical engineering and grew up in the Umkomaas Valley wilderness, where my love for the bush was kindled. I don't have social media so you'll have to join me on a bushwalk to see more. I look forward to our time together.
